The true story of a home explosion, a total loss, and a silver lining.

Location: Corner Brook, Newfoundland & Labrador

On March 29, 2009, a violent explosion rocked the quiet neighbourhood of Quigley Place in Corner Brook, NL. In mere seconds, the home of the Joyce family was engulfed in flames. The devastating incident was reported to Johnson, the family's insurance provider, early the next morning. Just over an hour later Jason, the insurance adjuster, was on the scene. As the property was completely devastated, it was impossible to pinpoint the cause of the explosion. However, that didn't stop Jason from taking care of every detail - from meeting with police to arranging estimates to begin the rebuilding process. "It was basically a spontaneous combustion that consumed the home in seconds. Thankfully the family was not home, that's what really matters," says Jason. The peace of mind ending: the Joyce family moved into their newly rebuilt home just in time for Christmas.
